Frog Champions move into the Empower Phase!

The Frog Transformation Programme is designed to guide teachers and students along their Frog journey in a simple, fun, and engaging manner. It runs over a 40-week period where FrogAsia's Tranformation Team trains and guides Frog Champion Schools in fully implementing the Frog VLE into their education experience through each step of the Transformation Checklist.

This April, Frog Champion Schools will be entering the second phase of the Transformation Programme, known as the Empower Phase, where teachers will start using the Frog VLE to create Teaching and Learning Sites, and where Frog Champion students will train their fellow schoolmates on how to use Frog!

Check out a sneak peek of the guides below. Aren't they pretty?

The best part? The Transformation Programme is for everyone! You can hop on board and use these guides to take Frog to greater heights in your school too! These simple and easy-to-use teacher and student guides are available on The Pond and the Community Site for any school to use.

Go to the Frog Community Site to find out more by logging  into the Frog VLE with your Yes ID to get started!

SMK Convent Bukit Nanas Initiates Class and Co-curricular Site Competition

To help students along their Frog journey, SMK Convent Bukit Nanas initiated an ongoing internal Site Making Competition that is being held from February to end April 2013. This competition is for the Best Class Site and Best Co-curricular Site on the Frog VLE. The competition helped to encourage students to get excited about using the Frog VLE to create excellent Class Sites and Co-curricular Sites which are visually creative and also informative.

Thanks to the initiative shown by the Assistant Headteacher (Academic), Puan Chee, and the Assistant Headteacher (Co-curriculum), Puan Norbani, who organised the competition, every class in SMK Convent Bukit Nanas now has a Class Site and upcoming Co-curricular Sites that the students are actively using!

We stopped by for a visit and caught up with two of the students who have created what are now the leading Sites in the competition. Watch the video below to see what Jaiyaswiny Sivakumar and Georgina Shobah James shared with us about how they came up with original ideas to make these Sites, and what they learned in the process!

We love partnering with schools like SMK Convent Bukit Nanas and many others who share this vision for bringing education in Malaysia to the next level.

Well done SMK Convent Bukit Nanas! We're looking forward to seeing the final outcome of this competition end April. May the best Sites win!

If you've got a great story to tell, we'd love to share it with everyone too! Just hop on to our Facebook page and let us know you have a Frog Story to tell, and we'll be in touch.

Get Creative with the Hoppin' Tunes Competition!

Introducing the Hoppin' Tunes Competition - the chance for all students to show us how creative they are by picking a popular song and "Frogbomb"-ing its lyrics!

By participating, students stand a chance to win a complete classroom makeover with IdeaPaint. This is an innovative and environmentally responsible whiteboard paint that transforms virtually any surface into a high-performance, dry erase canvas. That means they will be able to showcase their prize to the entire school too!

Check out the video below to see how IdeaPaint works.

The Hoppin' Tunes competition runs from 6th February to 31st March 2013. Students can login to The Pond to find out more information on how to enter and to get helpful video-making tips.

For more information and updates about Hoppin’ Tunes, keep checking our Facebook page and follow us on Twitter.

CBN Prefects Go Frog!

Prefects from Convent Bukit Nanas (CBN), one of our pilot schools that has recently taken the lead in going paperless for 2013, impressed us with their spirit, enthusiasm, and creativity in using the Frog VLE. Together with the help of their teacher adviser, the CBN prefects took the initiative to develop a Prefects Site on the Frog VLE, which gave the prefects an avenue to make their voices heard and communicate with the rest of the school.

The Site has been independently driven by the prefectorial team, who regularly post up relevant topics and actively collaborate on it. By using the Wall widget on their site, they encourage other students to contribute and share their thoughts on topics of relevance.

This engaging site has interesting bytes of information like Interview of the Month, Highlight of the Week (which includes book, song and picture of the week), Just Sayin' (a channel for all students to freely express themselves), Dear Prefects (an advice column), and Discover (which currently highlights Architecture as a career).

We found it incredibly refreshing to talk to these young leaders who are getting a head start in learning to speak their minds and lead their peers. Their well-crafted Prefects Site is a testimony to their talent and creativity.

Watch the video below to see what these bright sparks have to say about Frog.

SMSTJ has been Froggified!

As part of the Student Engagement Weekly Checklist, under our Transformation Programme, Frog Student Champions are required to create a viral video. This teaches the students how to develop their ideas, as well as plan and execute a project as a team.

We're incredibly excited that our very first viral video has been created, by the Frog Student Champions from SM Sains Tuanku Jaafar!

We're impressed by the effort put in by the Frog Student Champions: Nabil Mubaraq, Nor Afiza, Afrina Johari, Khairul Anuar, Ahmad Husaini, Afsar Aqlan, Aizierah, Iffah Hazeeqah!

Keep up the amazing work, Frog Student Champions, and we're looking forward to showcasing more great work done by you!
