SMK Puchong uses Frog to Reduce Administration and Increase Student Engagement

One of the efforts to transform our education system as stated in Malaysia's Education Blueprint (2013-2025) is to "Focus teachers on their core function of teaching from 2013 by reducing administration burdens". Teachers are often bogged down by administrative tasks, which makes it challenging for them to fully concentrate on teaching itself.

In overcoming this, Mr Phang from SMK Puchong is already one step ahead! With help from widgets like the Booking Calendar on the Frog VLE, the hassle of administrative tasks is minimised, so that teachers like Mr. Phang can spend more time with his students instead!

In addition to that, teachers are able to easily connect with their students by using the Forums widget. This helps in increasing more communication between teachers and students so that the necessary attention may be given to individual students! Watch this video to hear his story.

If you're a teacher with a great Frog Story to tell, we'd love to share it with everyone too! Just login to your Frog VLE and share your story with us on the Frog Community Site!

SMK Kiaramas holds a Frog Buzz Week

As part of the Transformation Programme, schools are required to organise a Frog Awareness event on a day where Frog Admins can introduce the Frog VLE to their whole school. SMK Kiaramas went the extra mile by organising a Frog Buzz week that included an Online Cyber Hunt which encouraged the students to log into the Frog VLE.

Thanks to the initiative taken by the Frog Admins of SMK Kiaramas, the school is well on their way to using Frog effectively. Well done, SMK Kiaramas!

SMKA Sultan Azlan Shah is a step ahead with Frog!

SMKA Sultan Azlan Shah is a Champion School in Ipoh, Perak that had not yet received training from our FrogAsia team. When the team arrived, we found that they had already taken the initiative to complete the first stage of the Transformation Checklist independently. In addition, they had also taught their fellow colleagues how to use the platform.

Watch this video to find out how they did it, as told by Frog Admins, Puan Nurul Azrina and Cik Tom.

We're really encouraged by teachers like Puan Nurul Azrina and Cik Tom. They make a difference in Malaysian education by going the extra mile for their students. We look forward to more inspiring stories like these with Frog.

If you've got a great story to tell, we'd love to share it with everyone too! Just hop on to our Facebook page and let us know you have a Frog Story to tell, and we'll be in touch.

SMPK Setapak Uses Frog for the Visually Impaired: Part 2 of 2

In our recent post, we introduced SMPK Setapak, a school for the visually impaired. As we found out, in 2012, two teachers who had attended a Frog Admin training held by the Ministry of Education (Bahagian Teknologi Pendidikan) took the initiative to implement Frog in their school without any additional guidance.

When we heard the news, we headed over for a visit to find out how a school like theirs used Frog and what motivated them to do so. Watch this second video to find out how the school's Frog Admin, Ms Tang Lai Shin, explores the use of the Frog VLE for her students.

The teachers at SMPK Setapak have found ways to incorporate Frog into their teaching and learning experience despite the many challenges that come with teaching students who have special needs.

Their story is an inspiring example of how anything is possible if you want to make it happen.

We commend SMPK Setapak for their positive attitude not just towards implementing a new way of teaching and learning in their school, but for taking up the challenge to ensure that no matter what level of ability, their students get the best from what education technology can offer.

If you've got a great story to tell, we'd love to share it with everyone too! Just hop on to our Facebook page and let us know you have a Frog Story to tell, and we'll be in touch.

SMPK Setapak Uses Frog for the Visually Impaired: Part 1 of 2

Sekolah Menengah Pendidikan Khas Setapak is a school for the visually impaired. Among the 140 students that are currently enrolled in the school, the range of visual impairment ranges from partial to full blindness. SMPK Setapak's school staff consists of teachers who are both fully sighted as well as those who have varying degrees of visual impairment.

In 2012, two teachers who had attended a Frog Admin training held by the Ministry of Education (Bahagian Teknologi Pendidikan), took the initiative to implement Frog in their school even without having any further guidance as they are not listed as a Frog Champion School.

When we heard the news, we headed over for a visit to find out how a school like theirs used Frog and what motivated them to do so. Watch this video to find out more about this school as told by the School Principal, Encik Jalaluddin Yusof.

We are very encouraged just by how much effort these teachers put into giving the best education to their students who have special needs,  on a daily basis. Stay tuned to find out how they use the Frog VLE for teaching and learning purposes in the follow-up story next week!

We're excited to see Frog reach more schools  and will be constantly keeping everyone updated as Frog continues to make its way around the nation. Stay tuned for more!
