4 Reasons why learning English is so important

It's been an exciting time for us at FrogAsia being able to kick off the year with an exciting, nationwide word-building challenge. This will be the first time we are holding a competition at such a large scale and giving away so many great prizes that will benefit learners and schools throughout the country! As such, we are incredibly proud to be partnering with our Australian partners, LiteracyPlanet, to run this fun, space-themed Word Mania challenge.

Themed "To the Moon and Back", Word Mania challenges students to see if they can build enough words to take them to the moon and back. Each game takes only 3 minutes to play and will send the Word Mania rocket 250m closer to the moon!

With colourful tiles, adorable space aliens, cool space-themed badges, and the ability to send challenge requests to your friends, we are sure your kids will have a blast playing Word Mania.

Besides all the fun, the reason we are so passionate about Word Mania is because we hope that this challenge will inspire a new love for English literacy among students in Malaysia, so that they will be better equipped to thrive competitively in a globalised world that relies heavily on the English language.

4 reasons why learning English is so important

1. While English may not be the most spoken language in the world, it is the official language in many nations. It is estimated that there are over 1.5 billion English speakers worldwide.

2. English is the dominant business language and it has become almost a necessity for people to speak English if they are to enter a global workforce. Industry-standard software and business models are often developed in the English language first, thus knowing English helps employees pick up skills and systems quicker.

3. Many of the world’s top films, books and music are published and produced in English, giving those who understand English access to a great wealth of literature and culture.

4. Most of the content produced on the internet (50%) is in English. Knowing English will give you access to an incredible amount of information which may not be otherwise available.

We believe that by inspiring a love of English literacy in students, they will have a more enriching learning experience in school and even beyond school. So why not get your child started on this journey and encourage them to sign up at www.frogasia.com/wordmania today!
